Natural Wine Libello 75cl Sequerciani - Tuscan Red Wine
Natural Wine Libello Sequerciani 75cl
A blend of two ancient and typical Tuscan varieties with common roots: Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo.
Each variety is harvested separately and picked by hand. The wine is vinified using a technique based on carbonic maceration. Young, well-balanced, fresh and fruity, it pairs well with traditional Tuscan antipasti, meat platters and crostini, grilled meats, and pasta dishes served with full-flavoured red sauce. No added sulfites, Demeter certified.
Autochthonous Grapes Ciliegiolo
Ciliegiolo is an autochthonous Tuscan grape although it is increasingly grown in other Italian regions. The name of this grape derives from the colour of its berries and from the aromas that the grape gives off which, in fact, recalls cherries.
The total production of this grape must count on a cultivated area of only five thousand hectares.
It was customary, especially in times gone by, to use wine produced with Ciliegiolo grapes as a cutting wine to impart greater alcohol content.

The Sequerciani terroir is an ideal area for growing the vines from which we make our natural wine. Ten hectares of new vines, on a clayey soil, two hundred and fifty meters above the sea level. Sunny days alternate with cool nights. The sea breeze favors the grapes, enriching them with the right content of sugars and acids. Perfect for a fermentation close to nature without adding additives.
They have recently rediscovered native vines that have long since disappeared, which we cultivate according to biodynamic principles. The result? A very special experience! Rare wines which, unfiltered, reflect the Sequerciani terroir well.
We harvest the grapes by hand, choosing only the best. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with yeasts deriving from the skins. We do not add yeasts or other substances. Our wines mature in terracotta amphorae which provide the wine with the oxygen necessary to keep the particular flavor of the grapes intact. To give an extra nuance, a small part matures in wooden barrels. Before bottling, we combine the wine from the amphorae with that from the barrels. This method gives our wine a complex flavor, without compromising the character of the grape.
Our intervention is limited to observing and respecting the times of nature: we add nothing and we remove nothing. No added sulphites or filtration.
