SUVERETO - A PERFECT AREA FOR WINE PRODUCTION
The company is located at the foot of the Suvereto hills and a few kilometres from the coast, in particular from the wonderful Elba Island. A perfect area for wine production thanks to a soil particularly rich in minerals and a microclimate that thanks to the recirculation of air from the sea maintains a mild climate throughout the year.
A LAND DONATED
My company Terradonnà (land donated from woman to woman) takes this name because I like to remember how much dedication my mom put into the cultivation of her land and the gift she gave me by entrusting it to me, this name is a thank you to my family who handed me down the passion for this job. A great effort in the restructuring of the company to obtain high-quality products, certain of the great qualities of this territory, which, due to the particular characteristics of the mineral-rich subsoil, offers wines that are pleasant when young and surprising in long ageing.
ABOUT THIS DRY WHITE WINE
The Faden is a very particular wine derived from modern processing techniques, traditionally produced by the farmers of the area of Suvereto and now abandoned. To achieve it, we have adopted a 50-year-old vineyard consisting mostly of plants of Trebbiano, Clarette and Ansonica.
The characteristic of this vineyard is its random alternation, so the grapes are picked for a single pressing assembling the grapes in the wooden wine press and juicing them all together.
This obtains a very balanced product with delicate and exclusive perfumes, a bit retro, brilliant in its simplicity because these vintages no longer exist.
With its slender and soft body, it can be paired with virtually any food.
PRODUCTION METHOD OF SUVERETO WINE
The grapes are picked by hand and immediately stemmed and pressed, and the resulting must is cooled at a temperature of 7 degrees for 48 hours; the clarified liquid is fermented in steel for about 20 days at 16°, resting in fine lees for 6 months and 3 months in the bottle.
SUVERETO WINE TASTING NOTES
Straw yellow colour with golden reflections, rich and complex smell, broom, citrus notes, light mineral nuance. Balanced, clean and soft on the palate.
